Of all the big corpus, m$ is the one that pisses me off the most.

I mean, at least Microsoft produces stuff. Equifax collected all your personal data without your consent and sold access to it. Then they got hacked and leaked the personal data of literally every single adult in the US... And the punishment for that? They got a 7 million dollar contract from the government and were allowed to go back to doing business as usual. You got a few months of "Free identity protection" and then they started auto-billing you for continued protection.

An actual punishment would have been to seizing all their assets, scrub the data off their hardware, send the CEO a bill for the data destruction service, then auction off all the assets and put that money into a fund dedicated to identifying and prosecuting identity theft, and making sure the other two credit reporting agencies stay up to date on their security.
