I got this error after opening my laptop, I am using Kubuntu

UPDATE:
I fixed it by looking in system logs and I realised something was wrong ith the cloned mac address and I fixed it and now it works.

If it worked before, have you tried:

  • Shut down the machine
  • Unplug power
  • Press the power button for a few seconds (should discharge any residual power)
  • Plug back in and boot

I had a similar issue where the WiFi card just randomly stopped working, and doing the above steps corrected the problem.

I have a laptop so holding the power button will just turn it back on

Remove the battery and try the same steps.

If it's one of those internal ones, you might need to look up a teardown guide for your laptop model.

Nevermind, I got it fixed a different way (see the upddate to the post), thanks for trying to help though.
