Now that you mention the Arctic... he's also the guy who invented Freon, as in CFC, the stuff that depleted the ozone layer and caused a hole in it over the Arctic.

If you're ever looking for a candidate for Lizard people, he's a good one. ๐Ÿคฃ

In what sense?

I think the craziest part was the press conference, after he fully knew the thing was dangerous but was willing to lie and poison himself further just to sell more of it. It sounds like money, and tunnel vision... who knows if maybe caused by the poisoning itself.

Almost certainly it was caused by the poisoning itself, imo.

He knew the effects, he understood what this would do to the world, he even avoided his own product at every chance he could. It's not like other instances where the creator doesn't understand the gravity of their invention or never saw its effects. He was highly aware and still allowed it to be released. Something just doesn't seem right about this.
