- Be constructive. As a community this is place for discussion, things you liked, things you didn't like, any everything in between. Low effort comments don't add to the discussion.
- Be civil. Disagreements happen. Don't attack others. Take a moment and reconsider before you post an inflammatory comment in all caps.
- No spam. Please don't post spam, trolling or other low effort content. If you're a human and you saw something interesting or had an interesting thought, you're probably fine.
- Memes are allowed. We're a small community, feel free to post memes or similar content. Funny things are good. If it becomes a problem we can discuss changing the rules.
In addition like any community we follow the Lemmy.World content policy rules. In short, don't attack people or groups.
Spoiler Guidelines
- Be mindful when posting spoilers or spoiler content.
- If you're making a post put "(Spoilers)" at the start of your post.
- If your post is an image mark it as NSFW.
- If you're making a comment use the Lemmy spoilers markdown.
When should something no longer be considered a spoiler? In general use your best judgement. If want something more specific,
- For films, wait until it's been released to streaming for at least a few weeks.
- For TV shows, consider the whole season as a spoiler until the last episode of the season has aired, then wait a few weeks.

Someone who cares, please let me know if this will be the must see everyone told me infinity war was
Yes. You must see it. You'll die if you don't.
Really you'll eventually die either way, so you might as well see it.
Am I the only person who's actually excited to see this?
No. I'm also very excited.
I just realy hope they don't try to connect Dr. Doom to Tony Stark with any multiversal shenanigans. He shouldn't even be seen without the mask. Should go full DREDD with it.
I think you're going to be disappointed.
There is potential. The comic this is based on was great. Spiderman got his black suit (they are probably just doing him turning into a spider or having 6 arms though). I'm assuming they will combine some Battle World elements with Zombie land and Lord God Doom. It might be in a sequel though.
The X-Men will be there and introduce new blood. I'm a big X-Men fan so I'm biased. The X-Men 97 cartoon is better than any fox movie though.
Who knows though. I won't be paying to see it in the theaters.
Are they doing the original secret wars or the newer one that was their version of infinite crisis on infinite earths?
No clue. I normally go into movies blind. I just assumed it would be a combo.
I doubt it. They felt the need to cast RDJ instead of finding a new actor. That killed any and all interest for me. I have nothing against him, he was a fine Iron Man; I'd like to see another person get a lead like that though. Instead we get Tony Stark but green.
Just seems to me they will forgoe good writing etc and just lean on RDJ being the draw. I have no plans on watching it because of that.
I’m in the same boat as you with the twist that I would have been a bit impressed if they brought him in without announcing it. I know there’s billing rules about this stuff but Marvel is an unlimited money machine they can figure out how to make the contracts work.
