I feel like there is detail missing here. I don't understand how he rescued all six people without also getting himself back. Did he go back out to look for a seventh person?
My interpretation was he went out, brought one back. Rinse repeat. As for bringing the last person, maybe it was bad timing and they got close to shore and the last person was strong enough to complete the trek, but he was not, given that he just rescued several people?
I'm just guessing here.
If somebody's untrained moving that many people out of danger in the water could certainly cause enough exhaustion to kill you.
Lifeguard at a pool has an elevated position and can jump pretty damn close to people, and even then they have a personal flotation device that they can use to get somebody to the edge of a pool pretty quickly.
Exactly. How did he NOT come back to shore with the sixth person.
