Nice. Try a 1W RAK if you have throwaway money. It's substantially better than the 4631. Guzzles power tho.

My main problem is that my home base node has limited range because I can’t mount very high. Does the 1W have better penetration range in a city?

It does. Am in the GTA, have tested 1W with your ALFA from the 10th floor balcony and on the ground, it always performs better than the standard RAK. Don't have any numbers to give you, which is why I suggested trying it if you don't mind throwing the money.
