A friend started and hosts our group of friends forever world.

did you use a random or pre-selected seed?

Random AFAIK, it may have had a few random generations before it was "good" but it definitely wasn't selected by seed.

did you allow friends or play solo?

Small group, 6ish people.

will you reset chunks to make room for new biomes/terrain features with updates?

We haven't yet. I'm not completely against the idea. We probably will at some point.

what mods did you use?

Vanilla, no mods except client side mods.

what difficulty did you select?

Hard, but some players are creative.

what gamerules did you change?

Sleep if one person wants to sleep.

how long has it been going?

3ish years? People play in bursts for a month or so. At the moment no one has really played in a few months.
