It's Allens that aren't in arbitrary sizes but their actual dimensions and sold in metric and normal sizes.

the other commenter was right, I was misremembering and had hex keys in mind
Yeah hex (Allen Key) heads are a pain for that, especially if they are cheap loose fitting heads, then you don't know if you have they right key
