A place to discuss positive changes that can make work more equitable, and to vent about current practices. We are NOT against work; we just want the fruits of our labor to be recognized better.

- Stimulating a massive wave of worker organizing in the United States and beyond.

I'm just telling you what the article said. You still didn't try to look it up and read it through, and yet you responded anyway.

had you looked it up you would have seen that they did indeed talk about other countries and tried to imagine how this all might play out depending on which model the US adapts or if we take some kind of hybrid approach
But I mean, who needs to listen to an expert in the field of economics when you can just pretend like you already know everything? Stay stupid
You’re directing your anger at the wrong person. You are being manipulated and used as a pawn/useful idiot. Giving any weight or credence at all to the idea that universal healthcare is complicated or exotic is just propaganda, plain and simple.
NYT opinion does this constantly. They will hem and haw about how the topic du jure is acccccccctually really complicated in order to sow doubt and give legitimacy to points that don’t just stand on their own merit. They also constantly try to distract from disastrous economic issues by trying to divide us with identity politics about race and queerness. It’s all the same tactic: some call it the “gish gallop” and some call it “flooding the zone”.
It's not an opinion piece on health care. Nobody said anything about if universal health care is complicated or not. It's an article about the economic impacts of a potential sweeping resolution that abolishes private health insurance. It's also almost 7 years old and no longer relevant.
Are you an economist?
Then why do you think you know more about this subject than the actual economists in the article? Are you a journalists who specializes in writing about the business of health care; particularly in how financial incentives affect the way medicine is delivered? Then why do you think you know more that then Journalist? Especially when we consider that the journalist in question has been doing this since the late 90s and specializes in, "scrutinizing the financial interests of insurance companies and hospitals".
And the NYT in general is rated, "Leans Left"

Funny how you know it's absurd to think you know more than the experts when it comes to things like medicine or science but when it comes to economics you and everybody else in this sub has it all figured out right?
Or do you also think vaccines cause autism and the world is flat?
