Don't tell white people to water their grass less though 😏
God damn do I hate lawns. Most places around here with a "yard" have grass, but there are a few islands of sanity where there is no grass only native flora. I get it that a well manicured lawn does something satisfying to the brain of a lot of people, even myself when I was forced to mow, but seeing these native flora displays has a satisfying air of controlled chaos bringing, myself at least, a sense of calm. They can also thrive on what the environment drops on them, or doesn't. Even in our water rich environment it was always such a waste
I planted clover and wild flowers, it's so beautiful compared to plain grass
The targeting of minority communities here does seem pretty sus, but the hosepipe bans mentioned are literally the government telling people not to water their lawns.
They are being inclusive because the "white lawns" as you are referring to them were some of the earliest water use bans. Now they are telling specific communities to use less water doing things those communities normally see as common-place.
