Is there no way to test gnome Wayland Vs gnome X11. I guess there is incompatible systems that limit a fair fight but testing different desktop environments sounds like a flawed test from the start.

GNOME stopped supporting x11 this year, and prior to that the x11 session was in maintenance mode for years - wayland has been the default since 2017.
