The thing I hate about all this is that if I were a foreign adversary, streamers are the exact people I'd use to rile people and push division. It's the ideal arena. You don't even need to be pushing money to a streamer to lead them to water, it's a very... manipulation prone platform. They're also online 24/7, so finding a dividing chink in the armor is all too easy.
Just look at the downvotes in this thread.
Don't get caught up in the energy of personality and fame that the media is feeding, pay attention and focus on issues. It doesn't matter what side of the fence the streamer falls on, they're being inorganically boosted specifically because they cause division. Ignore the streamer, speak to the issues that matter to you.
True, but Hasan Piker is a gifted speaker and he is definitely worth listening to.
He is just getting hyperboosted by the mainstream media's pathetic attempt to take him down backfiring spectacularly.
I'd certainly never heard of him before all this.
...the signal boost has been... weirdly obsessive around Hasan by establishment media there is no other way to describe it, if people watch his videos and listen to some of what he says and disagree... fine but this hysterical fear mongering around Hasan is bombastic bullshit, he streams constantly of course he is going to put his foot in his mouth every once in awhile but those moments are drowned out by hours and hours of basically Bernie Sanders style politics from a younger standpoint that is more "radical" I guess... but in spirit? Not really.
I will not stand for a villainization of Hasan Piker as someone who is antisemitic or embraces violent ideologies that are antihumanist, that doesn't mean I think everyone needs to agree with Hasan Piker because I like what he says, but this attempt to project these attributes onto Hasan Piker is simply not supported by the evidence, glaringly so.
Well said. This is all a distraction from how poorly the DNC is doing and how they're protecting their donors over constituents.
