New computers don't even take cd's anymore. They are shit compared to computers 15 years ago. Less ports, task manager doesn't work, it's more awkward to do anything as they made everything less functional.
You can't take the battery out anymore. If your computer gets compromised you are supposed to just let them spy on you I suppose, task manager is now worthless for sussing out and stopping malware.
I use desktop pc and linux on it, so am pretty satisfied with it.
Sounds like you’re on the cusp of leaving Windows. Excellent.
I recommend Mint.
These are all issues that can be fixed with a framework laptop running Linux. I'd recommend the switch to one or both of these things :)
Where are you putting a cd drive in a framework?
Valid point. I was talking more about the ports. Still tho usb cd drives are incredibly cheap and damn reliable.
