What's the anomaly around 2023/2024 where people seemed to switch to OS X and then back?

That doesn't seem like a switch people would undertake lightly, considering they'd need new hardware.

Since it's just a share of total usage, that doesn't necessarily mean that people switched.

There were a lot of layoffs in 2023, and big companies tend to use Windows as their enterprise desktop. So a drop in Windows users at the enterprise level would necessitate that other OSs now have a larger share of the remaining pie.
