As a Pennsylvanian I saw the writing on the wall leading up to the 2024 election. I grew up in a very conservative household, and my parents are still very pro-Trump. His reelection destroyed me, despite it seeming inevitable. How can a large chunk of this country not only not feel shame from this, but actively encourage and enjoy it?

my dad just sort of handwaves them away as "jokes" and aggressively refuses to engage any further than that
