MONTCLAIR, Calif. -- A truck carrying an estimated 40,000 pounds of Pabst Blue Ribbon beer was stolen in Montclair in what may be the biggest beer heist ever.

The stolen truck was loaded with what is equivalent to more than 50,000 cans of Pabst Blue Ribbon.

Pabst has publicly addressed the theft through social media, expressing frustration while urging the person responsible to return the vehicle and its cargo.

In an Instagram post, the company wrote: "STOLEN - 40,000lbs of beer."

The post continued: "To the thief: we don't fault you for wanting to brag to your friends how much PBR you have, we just wish you obtained it the honorable way.

The company gave the thief an ultimatum.

"Pabst is officially starting the clock now - you have exactly 18 days and 44 minutes to return our truck, no questions asked. Leading up to that time, we will be offering a reward to anyone who can help us solve this mystery."

Because everyone measures beer by the pound.

Like most folks I discovered The Longest Johns during that bizarre sea shanty craze during the pandemic, but I got really into them. I bought like 5 of their albums.

Ever run across Steve'n'seagulls?

They don't do shanties, but I discovered both at the same time, so they're linked in my head. And, most people that like one like both eventually.

Have come across Steve'n'Seagulls, they do bluegrass covers of metal songs...something in my memory is saying they're actually Scandiwegian or something? Denmarkois?

They remind me of Hayseed Dixie. A bluegrass cover band. I'll give you two guesses who they cover.

The one I link in my head with The Longest Johns is Colm McGuinness. He's even done a video with the Longest Johns, he sang lead in a recording of Star of the County Down. He gets up to get a beer during the instrumental break, it's hilarious.

Americans will use anything but metric
