Can somebody help me identifying a movie? (sopuli.xyz)

Of not, please point me towards the right community to ask.

The movie in question must be from 80's. The story revolves around dog fighting rings. There is a young girl who has a doberman that is a put to fight and reveals itself as champion but the girl doesn't want him to fight and eventually die. The movie ends with the girl rescuing the dog.

Did it have John Travolta in it? If so, maybe it was Eyes of an Angel (1991)?
