Literally highlighting her crimes to use as an ideal way of taking care of loud children, but ok.

How have you never encountered the concept of irony. You can't actually be this obtuse. You're faking it for some rhetorical point, right?

[-] plantfanatic@sh.itjust.works 3 points 4 days ago

No, OP is literally that unhinged.

And you wanting to continue to sit here defending this crap? I knew you weren’t worth my time when you tried making a scene in the other thread.

[-] jerkface@lemmy.ca -3 points 4 days ago* (last edited 4 days ago)

I'm sorry, lemmy.world won't believe that I am a human and show me your content. But the post we are presently on is obviously ironic. No one is seriously suggesting murdering loud children. The fact that you are making me say that out loud is very concerning.

I'm sorry, I don't remember you.

What part about their comments here and their post history is joking?

No one is seriously suggesting murdering loud children.

Uhh… Op literally is and has they provided the source, and their post history is full of it. How far up your ass is your head? How many times does someone need to say “I’m a Nazi” before it’s not “a joke” anymore? What’s the number?

Or are they one of your many alts?

[-] jerkface@lemmy.ca -3 points 4 days ago

You and I are done now. You can stop talking to me.

the person you're replying to is notorious for constructing ethical frameworks out of thin air then using loaded language and blame/shame tactics to high road any interlocutors who disagrees or adds nuance. theyre actually pretty good at boxing people into corners by steel manning exaggerated versions of their position then knocking them down with pearl clutching tactics. something along the lines of, "I can't believe you laughed a joke about! Don't you know laughing or thinking about a bad thing is morally equivalent to doing the actual thing?!"

they're otherwise actually pretty based in their views and make valid points but come off as antagonistic and self-serious to the point of discouraging others from engaging in conversation where people are allowed to grow and evolve their opinions.

best to tag and move on.

You sure you want to defend someone advocating for murdering loud children?

They clearly weren’t joking when they posted this, but atleast now it should be clear and you’ll adjust your comment here yeah?

There’s times when you need to be able to think for yourself and notice that it’s not a dark joke and is maybe a cry for help.

And than there’s always people who defend them as well… peas in a pod I guess.

fyi you are not "the person" I was referring to at all earlier. regardless, I won't pretend that policing which types of jokes are allowed on the internet (a joke clearly intended as rage bait which you fell for, btw) somehow places you on a pedestal above others.

maybe for you, this is "real life" but for me this is a shit post comment section. this isn't the salon or academy or public tribunal. it's not an essay prompt asking you to stake a moral position on a controversial topic. no one is actually being harmed here.

the meme is OBVIOUS engagement bait to get people like yourself riled up over literally nothing. a meme by an edgelord. that you just REACTED in the most knee jerk way to, by claiming moral high ground about an unserious hypothetical scenario.

the worst part of this interaction honestly, is that posts like this divide and push otherwise similar minded people into "take a side or be condemned" type of thinking. i never once commented on the content of the meme but I did fall for the bait of engaging/warning others not to engage with certain posters.

qed, much ado about nothing.

[-] velma@sh.itjust.works -3 points 4 days ago

There's a reason Casey Anthony was used for this meme and you're being deliberately obtuse by ignoring that reason.

[-] remon@ani.social -2 points 4 days ago

Yeah. The reason is that it's hilarious.

[-] jerkface@lemmy.ca -2 points 4 days ago* (last edited 4 days ago)

Okay. I accept there was a reason. I propose that reason was humour. It's a huge leap to say that reason was that people want to literally murder loud children. I'm sorry but you're being fucking stupid right now. If this is how your mind actually works, you're struggling with something big.

[-] velma@sh.itjust.works 5 points 4 days ago

yeah it’s humor in really poor taste. Not sure why it was so difficult for you to wrap your head around that.
