Boycott US
Overview:
The community dedicated to boycotting the US until they stop fascism, restore full democracy and start following international law.
Americans have a moral obligation to resist Donald Trump and project 2025 at every turn.
America is a flawed democracy currently being ruled by oligarchs. Stop the backslide! Dont let America become the next Hungary.
America needs to challenge the court rulings of citizens united v. fec and shelby county v. holder, protect the media, implement independent district drawing, and the single transferable vote so they don't end up having people stay home in life-changing elections because they cannot vote for their favourite candidate.

This is how ambassadors get sent home.
Why is this ambassador not sent home with a homework assignment?
Canada already has a petition to kick the US ambassador out. It's close to 300K signatures last time I checked.
https://www.ourcommons.ca/petitions/en/Petition/Details?Petition=e-7531
I believe that is the petition in question ♡
Yes it is, thank you.
Not that it will actually trigger his expulsion, I would still encourage any Canadian to sign it and help send the message.
I have mixed feelings about it. Hoekstra is indeed a piece of shit, but he does accurately represent what the US is right now.
I think I'd rather there be a shitty US shitty ambassador than one that was skilled at smoothing things over.
That is the sad reality.
As I mentioned, I doubt Carney will actually kick Hoekstra out - that would just trigger Trump to escalate.
But I do think this petition gives the government a strong indication of the public mood, and may also help give pause to Canadian groups that would have otherwise given Hoekstra a public platform.
He has previously been invited to speak at chambers of commerce and on various news programs. If those opportunities to spread his message are reduced or cease completely, the petition will have had a positive impact.
I think it does more damage to the reputation of the US to have Hoekstra doing interviews and doing speaking events than him not doing those things.
It's hard for people to pretend that "maybe the US isn't that bad" after hearing Hoekstra speak.
Because he was sent to Iceland with a homework assignment. An unbelievably stupid one, but an assignment none the less.
