Tildes has a different vibe that lemmy. I am on both sites, and there is a reason I still go there. Most lemmy drama and bullshit wouldn't be tolerated there. it is intentionally a slower, more polite community. It just isn't as larger or "happening" as lemmy, and it certainly never will be.

Lol, well I just spent a few minutes browsing and reading a thread or two. The Riviera Kid isn't far off: There isn't a ton happening there. But, with that said, the discussions being had in those threads seem pretty involved. I don't see much of the old reddit (and sometimes on Lemmy now) low-value insipid posts like: "This!" or "Came here to say that!" There are fairly long, multi-paragraph, drawn-out conversations with some thoughtful replies. I skimmed over a few as they were long and I am not invested in the topic (at this juncture). But it is interesting to see some cerebral discussions without the random silly stuff. Mind you, I do enjoy the silly stuff too. Ergo why I am here. Viva la Lemmy!
