I'm planning to introduce Peertube to a fairly large group of people who are new to the fediverse. Which instance is the best in terms of how easy it is to get an account and watch federated content as well as having something to discover locally?

If you don't have a lot of content to move over, and rarely post, I'm pretty happy on peertube.wtf, however there's a 100GB limit and you can only upload 10GB a day. Meanwhile if you're at active YTer with a lot of content, CuddlyTube also seems pretty good from a cursory glance and has no upload limits. Oh, and if you're considering MakerTube, they're paywalled now because of some shit going on at Hetzner, so let that be your warning for going with that instance, and spectra.video's also considering paywalling for the same reason that MakerTube is paywalled.

You could also self-host if you have the hardware on hand or can afford the VPS to, and you have the admin skills to pull it off.

Thanks! I was considering MakerTube so them being paywalled is important info.
