This right here. I feel like there's enough communities to really engage in a super wide variety of topics but not enough people on the fediverse yet

Yeah I’m noticing that this morning. I’m used to a billion comments on Reddit but this site feels way more natural and human.

Lots of just super weird people who don't know how the world works making shit up all the time and then everyone else on Reddit eating it up

I cried in public as a man once because my dad died and I literally got arrested, meanwhile my sister right next to me was also crying and a stranger gave her 100 dollars

And then just like thousands of sincere comments wishing OP well or talking about how this story will definitely get buried by the bitter feminist reddit cabal that don't want you to know the truth

It’s happened to me. Something similar.
I was picking up my grandmas ashes. On the sad walk home I encountered a thief who stole it. I reported him and I’m literally shaking right now because I need to have her ashes for school.
