Actually it was my dad dickhole, was just trying to keep details low.

I never got to come out to him as trans because I hadn't yet entirely figured it out, its a very large regret of mine that my dad knew me only as his son.

Dealing with that while taking care of an ageing mother who constantly over-works herself as the sole member of her household.

Add two older siblings that decided to use their headstart to run off literally 1000s of miles away so they could throw the issue onto my plate and lock me into a town I don't want to live in...

Point being? Its been rough.

And yes, some people on this planet aren't worth the oxygen they waste. Sorry to tell ya.

Honestly I that's what I thought from context due to "closest family member", your mention of his partner, and the ages would match. But clearly that's not of interest to someone eager to project all their own issues onto you.

I'm so glad you got to figure out the person you are, and incredibly sorry you couldn't share this with your dad. All the best to you and your mom.

Thank you, its been rough but I got a cute/sweet boio and a job that at least pays the bills.

Shit could be way worse.

Want to say that officialy? So many people are dishonest about this.

Want to list the types of people that "aren't worth the oxygen?"

GOP politicians, corporate execs, basically the entirety of the billionaire class

Shit, I could just say the monsters mentioned in the Epstein files and I think we'd cover most of that and then some.

I do believe all life, especially sentient life, has deep inherit value. There are things people can do however, to lose that value.

"i do believe all life, especially sentient life, has deep inherit value."

🤔 sort of at odds with your first comment.

Someone answered an Ask Lemmy question honestly, in another thread. Wow.

Thank you!

I'm one of those people. I might go visit one of those death with dignity pods.

[-] magic_smoke@lemmy.blahaj.zone 6 points 1 month ago

Those kind of people typically don't see themselves as those kind of people, but rather they see themselves as above everyone else.

I have no fucking clue who you are, but there are statistically several people who would be upset to the point of being sick if you seriously had committed suicide.

Trust me, I know.

[-] captainlezbian@lemmy.world 2 points 1 month ago

Better than that is to spend your life striving to change and improve

[-] ScoffingLizard@lemmy.dbzer0.com 2 points 1 month ago

I have accomplished a lot. By most people's metrics I'm successful. But I'm tired, burnout, and pissed about it. I can't stand myself. No need to struggle just to have the opportunity to struggle another day and get more burnout and miserable and taint the vibes of those around me.

[-] captainlezbian@lemmy.world 2 points 1 month ago

No, the struggle is to become someone you like

[-] ScoffingLizard@lemmy.dbzer0.com 1 points 1 month ago

That's an interesting thought. I have to identify what I like first.

[-] HeyThisIsntTheYMCA@lemmy.world 2 points 1 month ago

not enough people consider chronic burnout a disease but it's worth treating like one.
