The post was probably purposefully written to be very assertive about lying to bring up strong emotions while being very vague about when to lie so your mind can fill in the blanks about what to ascribe that strong emotional response to. This promotes engagement because you can have multiple conversations going on in the responses where folks are arguing against each other talking about different things while believing they are talking about the same thing. In short, it’s ragebait.

My first thought reading the post was that drama can start if you give an honest opinion that clashes with someone else’s. If I go looking for paranoia I think one could say that lying to your coworkers means you do not trust them. Many people spend a large chunk of their life at work, so one could believe that coworkers are likely to make up a large chunk of the people in your life. From those pieces it could then be said that not trusting a large chunk of the people in your life would make you paranoid. Therefore, it is paranoia to lie to your coworkers and advocating for that lying is advocating for that paranoia.

But I don’t know, I don’t live in Tattorack’s head.

Jesus Christ, did you use AI to write all that??

Uh no, I tried using AI to write something once and it was about the ickiest I've felt at a computer. I just like justifying my thinking with words.

Well you write suspiciously like an AI. But I guess they got their training data from the Internet, after all...

  2. Don’t be a dick. No personal attacks, no aggression, play nice.
  3. Don’t hate on groups, hatefilled talk about groups is not allowed. Ever.
  4. No governmental politics, so no talk of Trump actions etc. We recommend Feminism@beehaw.org for that, but here is an escape from it.
  5. New accounts or users with few comments may have their posts removed to prevent spam and bad-faith participation.
