experiencing key repeat glitch while playing minecraft (lemmy.world)

linux mint user here! i play minecraft via prism launcher. last night, i ran into a key repeat glitch. i was stuck moving forward with no response to my Esc or Fn keys. when i closed minecraft completely, Ws would fill all available text boxes. this happened twice. restarting my laptop stopped the glitch, but i'm wondering what's causing it. is it linux, minecraft, prism launcher, or, alternatively, is this a known issue?

Just to clarify, you see W typed in system boxes after closing minecraft? If so it points to a system issue.
