Maybe someone in the comments can help us change our minds...for me i'ts ~~Raggaeton~~ Reggaeton, I tried, I searched thru the early years but nothing, dumb genre in my opinion.

Well, you are naming Lou Reed and Nico, two of the best artists in the history. HipHop isn't all lyrics, I also tend to minimize lyricism (I'm not even english native), I listen to the music and you still have some of the best album in the world like Public Enemy's It Takes a Nation of Millions to Hold Us Back (absurd hardcore productions) or A Tribe Called Quest's The Low End Theory (which is peak boombap in my opinion).

I love instrumental hiphop, particularly most things from Ninja Tune. I've gotten through the mid-late 2000s almost entirely on a diet of Ninja Tune and Bill Laswell.
