I used to play with minis long, long ago (altho cheese was already a thing then), and IIRC most of them were made out of lead. I'm curious how hefty these printed polymer versions might be?
If they seem too light and flimsy, is adding a steel base or whatnot a thing?
They are rather light but not as light that a wind would push them over. So far I’ve not heard of people using additional weight to the base.
These are very light and brittle. They shatter if dropped on hard surfaces from anything above table height. I haven't heard of people adding weights to make them heavier. If anything, they add magnets for use on magnetized battle maps/-grids.
Is there a reason for using a light, brittle plastic over a more sturdy type? Maybe lighter allows for more articulation, perhaps?
There are more expensive resins available that are a little more sturdy, but overall I think it's just because this is a completely different material from molded plastic. It's a liquid that's hardened with UV light.
