I wish people would realize it is neither socialism nor capitalism that leads to empty food shelves, but a lack of democracy.
Capitalism inevitably concentrates more wealth in fewer hands, it is fundamentally anti-democratic by design
I mean, that is why the Athenians used to tax the shit out of their upper class.
I'm no advocate for capitalism, but right now the most democratic countries on earth are ones that you would probably label "capitalist", although I would say they are more accurately labelled "mixed economies".
But again the problem isn't the economic system that leads to the lack of food. It's how much you concentrate power in the hands of a few people.
It's the economic system that is concentrating power in the hands of a few.

and rights. pure democracy has its own issues. You need to spell out the rules that are not debatable.
