The Lemmy interface tells you if there are new unread comments on posts you viewed before. Does that mean Lemmy tracks all the posts you've ever viewed and when? Is that information public?

e2ee for what? I believe the only case of e2ee in the fediverse is mastodon private messages, but if you need e2ee communication I'd recommend matrix or simplex.

I was thinking for Lemmy. Friendica also has e2ee, as far as I know, and that is part of the fediverse.

Matrix is def a good one, hadn't heard of simpleX before! Thanks

Lemmy's a public platform so e2ee doesn't make sense for anything but private messages.
