Easy one I got burned by many times until I got the message was to have my bills paid on the first day of the month so they were out of the way and money I earned going forward would first cover next months bills and whatever remained into savings

Was a very hard long term lesson but it has served me well since I got it down

That's why I don't make it a credit card. Bills are 3500, pay is 4000, I have 500 to play with. Next month I do over overtime, now pay is 4500 so I have 1000 to play with. Next month company closes for a week due to holidays, so pay is 3500 I have 0 to play with. It could change every month but I always try to look a month a head.

Edit: if I had a constant 1000 each month of play money from a credit card it would be too tempting on some months to think "I'll just borrow 100 from next month, things should be better then so I can pay it back."

Yeah, I might need to change that amount, its on the radar for sure. Will do better on it, kinda have to due to circumstance, the best kind of 'stance
