That is obviously very far sub-average, but hilarious (and kind of sad?) nonetheless.
I think self driving cars are about as intelligent as a minorly sub average 12 year old, in a near panic.
Which, yeah, that's progress and it will get better, but is nowhere near responsibly deployable in comparison to the average human being, and nowhere near even a decent driver. The only thing self driving cars have for them, ignoring the ethical disasters, shocking amount of fascism, rampant destructive corruption, and signs of an increasingly unhealthy dystopian society, and only focusing on the technological side, is that they're relatively consistent.
Which, effectively, could be considered for an emergency backup in a case where a human literally cannot drive and the benefits outweigh the risks.
Like, yeah, it's getting there, but so is society at becoming a utopia. The difference THERE is that we can't just not implement society, but for some reason, all the shittiest stuff humanity has ever encountered is being given infinite chances right now.
