How the hell is sending to high user count DLs not restricted to people capable of thinking and breathing at the same time (or managment, which ever signs your paychecks)?

Anyone with access to a computer can e-mail the entire company with one address. Hell, the way they are setup, I would not even be a little bit shocked to find out someone outside the company e-mail system could e-mail the entire company if that address got leaked...
Omg, I just checked... One of our IT people has sent us mail via the "entire company list" from their personal gmail account before...
