Studying 24 years of small-mammal tracking records across New Zealand's public conservation land, researchers found that the timing of these rebounds varies between regions.

“1080 drops” means aerial distribution of poisoned bait containing sodium fluoroacetate (1080).

Hate they assume normal readers know what that is. Had to google that.

So why would they poison rat populations instead of installing predators that hunt them?
