Well you can see why those secret conservative gays picked that guy as their bigoted Liberace to lead them into a technocratic feudal hellscape where Christian evangelical shariah law is implemented so they can stay closeted ad infinitum, perhaps get hunted down by gay ICE. He’s stunning. Just a perfect specimen of manly men who totally got carried by beefcake firefighters against his will during 9/11.
I saw a comment somewhere saying that the grindr usage peaks that people associate with republican conventions are actually pretty common in all sorts of events of this scale that involve a large crew of people for organizing and running the event.
I find it very implausible that in a vast herd of horses, specifically the few zebras amongst them were the only ones causing the stampede damage.
Political views are often socially transferred and sexuality is not.
I don't believe for a minute that homosexuality or bisexuality were any less common when folks could get put in prison and beaten up for it, it's just that man on man sex happened much more furtively.
Why on earth would men who were gullible enough to believe trump or who happened to have been brought up in a conservative household be less frequently turned on by man on man action? It's screamingly unlikely to me. I think the gop has gay and bisexual men in different but genuinely similar proportion to any group, it's just that it's socially unacceptable in the gop to be openly gay or bisexual (or indeed to be part of any minority group).
Imagine you're a horny bisexual Republican and you're away in a hotel with lots of other people who have a vested interest in no one knowing you're into men, and away from all your nasty gay Democratic neighbours who would recognise you and would just love to call out your "guilty" secret. What do you do? I suspect you download the world's most famous gay hookup app as soon as no one can see your phone screen, and see whether you can indulge your fantasies.
I think it's obvious this is common when large numbers of closeted men get together in a fairly anonymous setting, and I don't know why people fight the evidence that it's happening, and happening repeatedly.
Which would indicate even republicans have their share of lgbtq, just hypocritical ones. It’s not like having the circus in town makes people horny, they’re horny for the circus folk in town
I'm sure there's plenty, but what I meant is that the grindr stuff is not necessarily proof that the politician themselves are gay, it could very well be their staff

I always read it as people saying the party in general has a big enough gay base and membership in general, including politicians and aids and attendees, that grindr always has issues when they gather in large numbers in one place. Which still seems true this week.
