100% this. I've seen so many people say "I don't have the brain power/I'm not smart enough to play Factorio" but you can still enjoy the game plenty enough without putting any thought at all into what you're doing.
I plan things out because I enjoy planning these things out, but I have a friend who usually beats me in Factorio randomizers because he just slaps something down that works and waits for it to churn out something, meanwhile I'm having my own fun planning out perfect ratios, optimizing placements, and designing a better factory. By the time I have an order list of what machines I'll need to build, my friend has already finished two science packs and is expanding them to double his production.
In my opinion both styles of play are perfectly valid, and the both of us still have our fun playing the same game in very different ways.
