Fortunately that's absolutely not true. You can buy plastic free paper for wraps and burgers.

Also, wax paper has been a thing long before plastics.

Yes, this is true. In my experience I have had a very difficult time finding it and no restaurant where I live uses it anymore. I can’t speak for the rest of the world.
