It's also because a season is only 8 episodes and dumped all at once. You don't have time to digest it. You end up binging the episodes so other people don't spoil it for you, then you easily forget what happened. It's like Netflix purposefully designed their shows to be forgettable.
Well they're certainly being written so people on their phones can understand them.
