Welcome to Progressive Politics! A place for news updates and political discussion from a left perspective. Conservatives and centrists are welcome just try and keep it civil :)
(Sidebar still a work in progress post recommendations if you have them such as reading lists)
Sure, Jan.
We're just not gonna blame Kamala Harris for looking at a bunch of people who can't afford groceries and insisting that we be joyful. Awesome, perfectly run campaign.
We're gonna blame the guy who voted for a politician that he actually agreed with instead.
This definitely isn't on me. It's on you guys.
Here comes the BlueMAGA genocide apologist brigade
LOL americans
Surely the point of voting is to actually vote for the political party you want ? Or is it not a democracy in US?
It's not a democracy in the US. You vote for who you really want in the primaries. In the general there are only two viable options.
Except you can't since the primaries are also rigged
Seems like there was only one viable option
That really comes down to how we're defining viable.
Well Harris clearly wasn't viable
you can democratically vote for the fascist party, you can choose what speed they get there, that's it.
Read what I wrote, and then come back with a reasonable response whenever you're ready. Thank you.
You would've let a lot of people get fucked because you're a selfish american who have no trouble being gigantic hypocrites punch down on others for their own benefit and are OK with their shithole extorting, terrorizing and murdering in other countries as long as they aren't bothered.
Trump is the best thing that could happen for the world.
You totally deserve it. I hope you suffer as much as possible and your violent cancer country gets destroyed from the inside.
Regardless of votes, remember who it's really on. The ones who are playing us against each other. Yes, it's also the fault of people who voted for him many times, and for those who split a vote where only two party voting would have given him a loss. AND for those who allowed the DNC to make so many bad choices. AND Harris for dropping what seemed to be a working campaign for a bit. AND... well, it goes on.
But it's the ones laughing at the top. They're the real problem. Never forget. They love to see this finger pointing at the bottom, it makes them feel safe.
"you guys", as if even the whole of Lemmy (most of which probably aren't even living in the US) would have been enough to make a different DNC candidate happen. I haven't even seen anyone who says that they actually like Harris.
You were neutral on genocide?
Of course, it's just when you don't see anyone liking Harris, it's stupid to blame these people for the DNC picking an unpopular candidate. Unless a majority of US Lemmy users says they don't vote in primaries or something.
I’ve had a similar experience with California governor Newsom. Like or hate his politics (I generally agree with them), he was genuinely nice the numerous times I waited on him. He’s a restaurant guy at heart, and was interested in our operation, so we talked about that a bunch.
So you're pro genocide
That is both not true and irrelevant to the fact that you're pro genocide
When you're comparing yourself to the Republican candidate, the bar is already in hell...
There seems to be abundant evidence that they didn't.
Didn't what?
They didn't like her.
Remember, when she tried to mount an actual campaign she didn't even make it out of Iowa.
Who wouldn't like a ghoul that deservedly got the name Copmala?
Great candidates, can get in a 'lesser evil' contest with that disgusting sociopath Hillary.
What a shitshow
That's your example why she would've been a bad choice?
True, the fact she's a genocidal monster should have been the go to
