It's not a democracy in the US. You vote for who you really want in the primaries. In the general there are only two viable options.

Regardless of votes, remember who it's really on. The ones who are playing us against each other. Yes, it's also the fault of people who voted for him many times, and for those who split a vote where only two party voting would have given him a loss. AND for those who allowed the DNC to make so many bad choices. AND Harris for dropping what seemed to be a working campaign for a bit. AND... well, it goes on.
But it's the ones laughing at the top. They're the real problem. Never forget. They love to see this finger pointing at the bottom, it makes them feel safe.

Of course, it's just when you don't see anyone liking Harris, it's stupid to blame these people for the DNC picking an unpopular candidate. Unless a majority of US Lemmy users says they don't vote in primaries or something.
I’ve had a similar experience with California governor Newsom. Like or hate his politics (I generally agree with them), he was genuinely nice the numerous times I waited on him. He’s a restaurant guy at heart, and was interested in our operation, so we talked about that a bunch.
