Things like necessary age verifications are annoying to the average user and can potentially be motivating enough to move the masses to something like matrix. I don't see that happening without the current big centralized platforms enshitifying anyway so these news make me more happy than anything, finally I can see my normie friends get annoyed enough by the standard to do a little bit of research about alternatives. Am I wrong in thinking this, would any big change ever happen without massive platforms getting worse ?

I'd be happy to see people leave closed centralized proprietary platforms, but I don't think Matrix has great UX, people will probably go to something else instead
