Can I ask why? In this video, we see a child struck by water with such force that they are strongly knocked to the ground, and immediately starts crying from the ordeal.
Do you like seeing children in pain and/or in misery?
Do you have any kids of your own, out of curiosity?
I’ve got four kids.
Kids cry. All. The. Fucking. Time.
Someone got a ever so slightly smaller biscuit than you did can literally be THE WORST THING EVER for 3 minutes until they’re distracted by something else.
Crying is not a useful indicator of whether that child was hurt or not. He might just have been surprised, or annoyed that mummy’s warning was legit, or determined to show his brother how much water he could take and slightly surprised, or mildly embarrassed that he ended up on his bottom or, indeed, genuinely hurt.
But seriously, a change of clothes and an ice cream and that boy will have forgotten all about this.
You've not understood what this is all about for me.
It doesn't matter whether or not they got hurt, that's not what this is about. I know the child is and will be fine.
It's about their emotions. Laughing at someone that young having negative emotions is pretty fucking shitty, in my opinion. And that's all it is and what it will remain — my opinion.
I have 3, this is neither hurt nor scared. It's surprised before a proper knowledge of how to handle the experience. He got put on his bum from a strong wave and overwhelmed by it. He immediately found his parent and got comfort. I'd be willing to bet that within 10 minutes of this video, he was back at the fence and laughing his ass off.
I disagree 100% that this is only "surprised".

That's literally how kids learn is doing something stupid and seeing what happens. It's not great they got knocked down for it but it looks like it was just a strong shove, and now they internalized high speed water can be dangerous.
Kids also look to their parents for how to react. If you're one of the people who thinks it's funny the kid is probably going to write it off as well.
I don't disagree with the things you say, but I can't be convinced that this child is not in distress after what happened, and that fact is not funny to me. The slapstick fall was not funny to me either.
If I want to comfort my child in a situation where it is overreacting to something, I wouldn't laugh at them, I would just act calmly and say "it's okay, you're okay, you're safe". This teachers them how to deal with the situation and what level of severity it really was. And it teaches empathy and how to comfort.
Otherwise you're teaching the child that people being uncomfortable and getting hurt is funny, and that you should laugh at that, which in turn teaches them to be bullies and insensitive assholes.
That's what I believe, and I see the results of my teachings in my own children. When they see others get hurt, they comfort, they ask if they are okay, they stroke their back. They nurture. They do not laugh. That would be disgusting.
It's not a "haha you idiot" laugh It's a "silly mistake, not a big deal" laugh. Idk I grew up with a lot of brothers and we would do this all the time to each other in situations like this, it never felt mean spirited just like lol what did you expect to happen? and if it actually looked bad it's are you okay first.
Well in this case, to me, it does look bad and I would say "are you okay?" first before laughing. Although I wouldn't laugh at all because none of this is funny in any way. That is just simply my opinion. 🤷♂️
I’m guessing you never watched Caught on Camera or whatever your local version was called in the 90s?
Kids doing stupid shit and getting mildly hurt was 90% of that tv show.
Of course I've watched plenty of those shows, like America's Funniest Home Videos, etc. I never, ever found any videos funny in those shows where it looked like someone might have gotten hurt. Not adults, nor children. I had too much empathy I guess? Clips where something funny happened like a crazy ball bounce or someone said something funny — those I liked.
Kid started crying because he got scared, not because of pain. Yes, I have a kid.
How do you know this? That would hurt my face, too, probably. Not to the point of crying, butt this is a child.
So you prefer to laugh at crying children who get scared rather at children who get hurt? I... guess that makes sense? I just don't get the "super funny" part.
Of course prefer scared kid (more like surprised), than hurt.
But the question remains, why is a scared child funny?
I can't take children seriously, they are unreasonable. I find it funny because it looks funny.
Well, you are wrong. They have emotions just as valid as ours, they just have no filter on their crying. This was not a fun experience for them, and you think that's funny. I think that's pretty shitty of you, no disrespect. I say this to shed some light on it for you, not to put you down.
