Establishing a daily routine really helped me out. The power of will isn't reliable, but habits are strong - you are what you've used to do on daily basis. Ten push-ups are better than no push-ups at all, but in a while, it gonna be twenty and thirty. When I started to use time/task trackers (super-productivity in my case, since its FOSS and has features for ADHD), it gave the feeling of continuous progress: do a small thing, check the box, move to the next one, and you are doing well!

Speaking from experience, this is so damn true.

Yup! I did pretty much exactly this with biking: I started off a couple years ago doing just a couple minutes a day on my exercise bike, then 5 then 10 etc.

Then eventually I got a better exercise bike and the Kinomap app and started to do variable speed videos from the real world.

10-20km flat routes at first, but eventually I got where I can do all the toughest Tour de France mountains and my longest route was a double century (over 200km).

I also got an outdoor bike in October, starting off doing just short shopping trips in addition to my exercise biking, gradually building up to where I do my exercise rides outdoors when the weather's good enough, use it as my primary mode of transportation, and have completed two outdoor centuries so far with many more to come ๐Ÿ˜

Unfortunately, I crashed a few weeks ago and haven't been able to ride because of my injuries, so I'm pretty much back to most of my bad habits from before right now ๐Ÿ˜ž
