I mean, not to get too deep into the weeds here but it seems like he’s literally saying dirtier because of the people in it, not like trash dirtier. It’s not even a misdirect on the phrase it’s a straight up dogwhitsle calling poor people dirty and equating that to non-white people. Your analysis is pretty spot on but more specifically “ Call us racist because we view people who are different than us as inherently dirtier. “ which is straight out of hitlers handbook. Almost like Trump has said handbook nearby, at the ready, like at his bedside table or something…
Totally agree, thinly veiled racism is this administration's calling card.
That’s what I’m saying tho it’s not thin. It’s not barley even a dog whistle but we’ve pulled that window so far right that saying America is dirty (not trash, but literally the people) is just blatant racism. And you got some guy in here saying it’s paranoia. Ha
Here we go with the dog whistle bullshit.
do you think racists don't use dog whistles? or that Republicans haven't been using racist dog whistles since the southern strategy?
It's democratic paranoia.
it would be great if you could answer the question. Are you saying Dog whistles don't exist? are you claiming the Republican party hasn't been using dog whistles since the southern strategy of Nixon's third presidential campaign?
I didn’t even think conservatives could find their way out here. Fascinating. Do you think dogwhistles don’t exist? Cuz I see dudes around who have em tattooed on them… even tho thier tat doesn’t say heil Hitler, it says 1488, it’s literally what it means. It’s called a dog whistle because it’s meaningless unless you know what the true intentions are.
(Or quite literally, you blow a whistle only dogs can hear, meaning you can only “hear it” if you’re a certain kind of person that’s “in the know”) Trump does it all the time, too, I can prove it if needed. Usually I wouldn’t explain the concept but if you’re a right winger it’s gonna be totally necessary for this conversation to work out.
