Lots of people are so closed off to anything new. Like literally there's a meme about how most people's music tastes are set in their high school era and that's so sad to me. I especially like a lot of songs and artists that defy easy classification, straddle multiple genres, or will kind of mash up different styles in a single song. I like artists that are willing to push a boundary and expand on the idea of what a 'song' entails. So if I recommend a song to someone and they don't even listen past the damn intro, that's the last time I'm taking anything that person says seriously.
