Ding dong dash is what we called it in the Midwest, US.
It was called "Knock and Run" in the UK too - at least in the bits of the UK I lived in.
You guys have a different dialect for every block in your city though.

Where I grew up in Vic it was called going 'knick knocking' in the 80s
