Cats that pee on the edge of the litterbox (sh.itjust.works)

Ever since we adopted our cat, she always has peed on the edge of the litterbox. This was ongoing for 6 years. On a whim, I bought finer litter and she stopped this behaviour immediately. Just thought I’d share.

My first cat started doing that because he was too old and arthritic to squat down as far as he needed. I fixed the problem by making a high sided litterbox from a storage bin. I cut a big hole in the side and put edge liner around the new opening so there wasn't anything sharp.
