Privacy-focused mail providers (FOSS preferred)? (lemmy.world)

Hi all,

We're looking to get off Rackspace's email as the Spam filtering is pure garbage. We're going to avoid the Googles and MS's of the world, and I'm wondering if this community has suggestions for mail providers that run FOSS services (and are public about that via support), and/or are privacy focused. Note: Proton is a no-go due to having to run an IMAP middle-man service.

I second this recommendation. I don't use the Disroot app on my phone, but they also offer a bunch of other great apps beyond emails in case you are interested. You can check them on their website. They're all FOSS and free to use. Most of them don't even require an account.
