Nah ding dong ditch runs closer to generally benign naming convention common in the English speaking areas of North America where it could be something benign or it's something mildly horrific like Willy Pete (White Phosphorus) or Bouncing Betty (A type of land mine).
Mh? Is knicky knocky nine doors malevolent? I thought the dickensesque characteristic meant whimsical and old timey, which fits for ding dong ditch imo
I was referring to how ding dong ditch is less in the dickensesque category and more in the North American is this fine or a euphemism for a war crime category. Ding dong ditch could just as easily fall aling blow bang suck as it could along Willy Petes surprise.
