The entirety of Home Assistant is a convenience tool.

HA, taking time to integrate devices, configure those devices, automate those devices, keep updated, and your automations and device settings up to date, then set up within a reverse proxy (which itself requires several steps and care), then getting your family to use everything you have setup just so you can turn the lights when you walk into the room, is anything but 'convenient' lol.

It's a lovely geeky tool, but stepping back and looking at it, that statement is mental :P

Yeah, that's not how "whoosh" works...

Just because it requires effort to configure doesn't mean it's not a convenience software. The entire purpose is automation. What is automation if not convenience? Having a computer do something for you? Saying otherwise is nothing short of mental.

That is indeed how woosh works. The :P at the end of my comment hints at something. It's not my fault you missed it. The joke went over your head - woosh.

It didn't go over my head, it was just a bad joke, if even a joke at all.

@wreckedcarzz
You mean like flashing an SD-card with #homeassistant OS and put in a pi?

[-] wreckedcarzz@lemmy.world 1 points 2 days ago

I mean 'Home Assistant [...] is a convinence tool' and a book of other hilarious things to tell yourself :P

The C in Home Assistant is for convenient and simple, don't you know?
