Hey, if they did this themselves and they know what they do, why not? It's such a dumb project. But if you have the tools, go for it.

As for why, I have no idea. This car came with AWD from the factory, and they didn't adapt the system at app for the new axle. This seems like at best it is just going to compromise grip on hilly terrain as the undriven axle lifts the middle off the ground and vice versa.
