How you gonna quibble over semantics then tell them off for semantic interrogation?
Something being pregnant for 75% of its life is pretty constant.
it's not 75% of their lives, either. they're not able to breed when they're calves.

75% isn't semantics. it's a statistic.
You just said it wasn't 75%.
And quibbling over what constitutes 'most of' something's life is semantics. I reckon plenty of folks would view anything over 50% would likely constitute 'most of'.
